Online Therapy

For some, traditional in-person therapy is simply too much to ask.

With traditional therapy, you schedule a session time with your therapist. Then you have to account for the additional time to drive there, find the office, and wait to be called by your therapist. With an hour for therapy, drive time, and waiting in a lobby, this might require two… maybe even three hours of your day. It can feel impossible.

These tasks can be stressful. Driving to a new place, finding a parking spot, finding the office, practically announcing to a receptionist that you’re mentally ill and need help… that’s a lot! With the unwarranted stigma around the need for mental health services, not everyone is comfortable with others knowing that’s why you’re there.

Online therapy is the best way to break down these barriers.

First, it’s the ultimate “social distancing” solution because your sessions can take place in your very own home.

Plus, if you’re busy, online therapy lets you schedule sessions that suit your schedule. You can have a session while you’re on break at work or between chores at home. When you take travel time and waiting time out of the equation, you only need to set aside 50 minutes of your day for a session.

There’s no driving, fighting traffic, finding parking… and no waiting in a lobby where people know you are there for therapy. Even though there shouldn’t be any stigma in getting mental health, there still is.

With online therapy, it’s just you and me.

No one else ever needs to know.

And, as you can probably imagine, symptoms of depression and anxiety can impede getting help. That first drive to a therapist’s office, the anxiety of finding the right place, the waiting with other people… are all uncomfortable situations even for people who don’t suffer from anxiety or depression. Now, add to that the fact that simply getting out of bed is challenging for some. Online therapy eliminates all those barriers. You don’t even have to get out of bed to have a session.

Another advantage of online therapy is that it makes couples and family work easier to schedule. As we all know, coordinating a time that works for everyone can seem impossible! However, it gets easier if each person only needs to log in where they are. Just be sure it’s a private place.

Lastly, location is no longer an issue. As long as you are in Wisconsin, we can work together. Many people live in remote areas that offer little mental health services… or it requires driving an hour or more. Now, it doesn’t matter where you live; the help is there.

This is a great solution if you’re ready to get back to the life you want and deserve!

Online therapy is safe and private.

I know this is a concern, so I always take extra steps to ensure your privacy.

I use a platform called “Simple Practice,” which gives us a private, HIPAA-compliant way to use video sessions. The sessions are never recorded and cannot be hacked.

Having a bad Internet day? We can still do the session on the phone on my business line, which is also HIPAA-protected (meaning that your private information is safe and secure).

It’s easy!

All you have to do is download the free Telehealth Simple Practice app. Ten minutes before your scheduled session, you will get a reminder email with the link. Click on the link at the time of your session, and I’ll be there!

The most important thing for you to do is have a quiet space to talk where you won’t have to worry about interruptions.

No more barriers between you and the life you want and deserve!
